The Roles

Jewel's career has been huge, and yet she's only 23 years old. Here you can find brief summaries of the various characters that she has played in her time on various TV shows and movies. This list is incomplete sadly, but if you know of Jewel in a role which I have yet to get listed here please contact me.

Space Cases: Catalina
This headstrong Saturnian is an engineering genius, and has a sonic scream that can be used as both a tool and a weapon (if necessary). After being stuck on the Christa's sister ship when it self-destructed, Cat was assumed dead. It was discovered, however, that she'd been switched with Suzee, her "imaginary" friend, who now resides with the Space Cases, while Cat is stuck on Suzee's home world of Yensid.

Flash Forward: Rebecca Sarah Fisher
Becca Fisher, as she was more commonly known was seen as the epitome of what teenagers can do if they put their mind to it. She's been everything from a ballerina, cheerleader to a speech-writer and a perfect daughter. She's learnt quickly from her mistakes, because after all, nobody's perfect. Headstrong and above all a great teenage role model.

Higher Ground: Daisy Lipenowski
A dark adolescent who prefers to be called Daisy Graves, hid from the pain of her alcoholic parents beneath a mask of "Goth" make-up, clothes, and piercings. When years of emotional abuse at home threatened to turn physical, Daisy struck back - literally. She assaulted her father with a seven-iron, and she was quickly shipped off to Horizon. Insightful and harshly honest, Daisy is always willing to point out other people's problems and faults, but carefully hides her own inner pain and rage.

Firefly/Serenity: Kayewannit "Kaylee" Lee Frye
Kaylee, as she's more commonly known in Firefly, is the genius engineer who keeps Serenity up in the sky. When Serenity was set down on a planet Kaylee got somewhat physical with the ship's existing mechanic. While onboard Serenity she managed to do one thing that the original mechanic couldn't do. Fix Serenity. Mal, the captain of the ship, was so impressed that he immediately hired her. This was the first time Kaylee had ever been off her planet let alone in space. She bonded quickly with all the crew members and had a special place in her heart for the somewhat stiff doctor, Simon Tam.

Stargate Atlantis: Ellia
Ellia is a wraith brought up as a human. When she was but a child the wraith craft which she was flying in crashed on a planet. Most the of the survivors which killed by the local inhabitants out of fear, but one man named Zaddick found Ellia. Zaddick has just recently lost a child of his own and so took Ellia in and cared for her. He raised her well and taught her right from wrong, companionship and everything human. However as a wraith, as she grew, she had a hunger for the human life force, which wraith usually feed on. This grew, and at one point she faced having to feed off her own father, just to satisfy her hunger. Ellia hated being a wraith, she hated what she was. She overheard a conversation about a retrovirus which could "cure" her. She took it, but unfortunately it had the opposite effect and brought the wraith side of her out even more. Before she was killed she killed her own father.

Stargate Atlantis: Dr. Jennifer Keller
First some background on Jewel getting a second chance to appear on Atlantis. Since Jewel first appeared as the wraith, Ellia, the PTB at Atlantis always knew they wanted Jewel back on the show in some way. As Ellia, Jewel was covered heavily with prosthetics, so returning her to Atlantis wouldn't prove such a headache; she was virtually unrecognisable. So we now have Jewel back in Atlantis as Dr. Jennifer Keller. Dr. Keller was brought in as the head medical doctor of Atlantis after the sad demise of their previous doctor, Carson Beckett. Jennifer is a small town girl thrust into Atlantis, completely out of her depth. She has already had to prove herself as an apt doctor when disaster struck Atlantis - explosions and multiple casualties. She certainly stepped up to the plate.
